- Rinse asparagus under cold water and pat completely dry. Snap off tough ends by holding each spear at both ends and bending gently until it breaks naturally.
- In a large bowl, drizzle olive oil over asparagus. Add garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Toss with your hands to coat evenly.
- Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Arrange asparagus in a single layer in the basket without overcrowding.
- Air fry for 7–9 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through. Thick spears may require up to 12 minutes. Watch for slight charring on tips and bright green color.
- Transfer immediately to a serving plate. Top generously with freshly grated parmesan and lemon zest. Finish with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice.
