Ingredients
  

Beef and Marinade
  • 1 lb flank steak or sirloin thinly sliced against the grain
  • 1 tsp sesame oil for marinade
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free) for marinade
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch for marinade
Vegetables
  • 1 head broccoli cut into florets
  • 1 red bell pepper thinly sliced
  • 1 carrot thinly sliced or julienned
  • 0.5 onion thinly sliced
Stir Fry Sauce
  • 2 tsp sesame oil for sauce
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce for sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp grated fresh ginger
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • pinch red pepper flakes optional for heat
Garnishes
  • sesame seeds for garnish
  • chopped green onions for garnish

Method
 

  1. Slice the flank steak very thinly against the grain. In a medium bowl, combine the beef with 1 teaspoon sesame oil, 1 tablespoon soy sauce, and 1 tablespoon cornstarch. Toss well to coat. Marinate for at least 10 minutes.
  2. Prepare vegetables: cut broccoli into florets, thinly slice red bell pepper, carrot, and onion.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together 2 teaspoons sesame oil, 1 tablespoon soy sauce, rice vinegar, grated ginger, minced garlic, and optional red pepper flakes. Set aside.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
  5. Arrange marinated beef in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Air fry 6-8 minutes, shaking basket halfway through. Remove beef and set aside.
  6. Place vegetables in the air fryer basket. Optionally add a light spray of oil. Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 8-12 minutes, shaking basket every 4-5 minutes until tender-crisp.
  7. Combine beef and vegetables in a large bowl or pan. Pour the stir fry sauce over and toss until evenly coated. Heat in a pan for 1-2 minutes if desired.
  8. Serve immediately, garnished with sesame seeds and chopped green onions. Enjoy over steamed rice, noodles, or cauliflower rice.

Notes
