Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 large apples Fuji, Honeycrisp, Gala, or a blend of sweet and tart
  • 2 Tablespoons melted butter or coconut oil for oil-free version
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg optional
  • 2 Tablespoons all-purpose flour or cornstarch optional, or use graham cracker crumbs
Optional Garnish
  • maple syrup for drizzling
  • brown sugar for sprinkling

Equipment

  • Air Fryer,
  • - Mixing bowls
  • - Whisk
  • Knife and Cutting Board

Method

  1. Wash and core the apples. Slice into 1/4-inch thick rings, keeping them uniform for even cooking. Do not peel.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together melted butter (or oil) and flour (or cornstarch) if using. Toss the apple rings gently to lightly coat.
  3. In a shallow dish, mix sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Dredge each apple ring in the mixture, coating both sides evenly.
  4. Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3 minutes. Arrange rings in a single layer without overlapping. Work in batches if necessary.
  5. Air fry for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until edges are golden and sugar begins to caramelize.
  6. Remove and let cool slightly. Serve warm, optionally with ice cream, cream cheese frosting, or a drizzle of maple syrup.
