Method
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the melted butter, milk, egg, and vanilla extract.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Lightly flour your work surface and roll out the dough to about 1/2 inch thickness.
- Use a donut cutter or a small round cookie cutter to cut out shapes. Gather any scraps, reroll the dough, and cut more donuts.
- Place donuts in the air fryer basket in a single layer, making sure they’re not touching.
- Cook for 8-10 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through. The exact time depends on air fryer model.
- Remove from air fryer and let cool slightly before glazing or coating.
- Prepare glaze or coating and drizzle or dip as desired.

Notes
For best results, use room temperature ingredients for smoother mixing and better dough consistency. The air fryer donuts are best served fresh and can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
