Method
 

  1. Prep Your Onions: Peel sweet onions and slice into 1/2-inch thick rings. Carefully separate each ring to avoid breaking.
  2. Set Up Breading Stations: Create three shallow bowls for flour, egg wash, and panko mixture.
  3. Combine ingredients for the egg wash: whisk together eggs and milk until well combined.
  4. Mix the panko breadcrumbs with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika in the third bowl.
  5. Breading Process: Dip each onion ring first in flour, shaking off excess. Then dip in egg wash, letting excess drip away. Finally, press into the panko mixture, ensuring full coating.
  6. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
  7. Prepare Air Fryer Basket: Lightly spray the bottom of your air fryer basket with cooking spray. Arrange breaded onion rings in a single layer without overlapping.
  8. Air Fry: Cook for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through (around 4-5 minutes). Spray tops with cooking spray after flipping.
  9. Serve Immediately: Transfer to a serving platter. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt when served. Enjoy hot and fresh.
