Ingredients

Sweet Potatoes
  • 2 large sweet potatoes about 1.5 lbs, scrubbed clean
Seasoning & Oil
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or avocado oil
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt or to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper or to taste

Equipment

  • Air Fryer,
  • Large bowl
  • Mixing bowl
  • paper towels.

Method

  1. Wash and scrub the sweet potatoes well. Pat them thoroughly dry with a paper towel. No need to peel unless you prefer them that way.
  2. Slice the sweet potatoes into uniform ¼ inch thick fries. Try to keep them as consistent in size as possible to ensure even cooking.
  3. Place the cut fries into a large bowl. Sprinkle the cornstarch over them and toss with your hands until every fry is coated in a thin, dusty layer.
  4. Drizzle the olive oil over the cornstarch coated fries, then add the smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Toss everything together to ensure each fry is evenly coated.
  5. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 3 to 5 minutes.
  6. Place the seasoned fries in the air fryer basket in a single layer without overcrowding. Cook for 10 to 12 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.
  7. Transfer the hot, crispy fries to a serving bowl and enjoy immediately.

Notes

These crispy sweet potato fries are perfect as a side dish or a quick snack. They are best served fresh and hot for optimal crunchiness. If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the air fryer at 375°F (190°C) for 3 to 5 minutes for the best texture.
