Ingredients
  

For the Chicken
  • 1 lb Chicken Breasts boneless, skinless, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tsp Cajun Seasoning adjust to taste
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil for coating
For the Sauce
  • 1 medium Onion diced
  • 1 Green Bell Pepper diced
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 cup Tomato Sauce
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 tbsp Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Pepper
For Serving
  • 4 Hamburger Buns split
  • 1 cup Shredded Lettuce optional topping
  • 1/4 cup Pickles optional topping

Method
 

Prepare the Chicken
  1. In a mixing bowl, toss the chicken pieces with Cajun seasoning and olive oil until well coated.
  2. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Place the chicken in the air fryer basket and cook for 10-12 minutes, shaking halfway through, until cooked through and slightly charred. Set aside.
Make the Sauce
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, add a drizzle of olive oil. Sauté the diced onion and bell pepper for 4-5 minutes until softened.
  2. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute more, stirring frequently.
  3. Stir in the tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes to let flavors meld.
  4. Add the cooked chicken to the skillet and stir to combine. Cook for another 5 minutes to heat through.
Assemble and Serve
  1. Spoon the Cajun chicken mixture onto the split hamburger buns.
  2. Top with shredded lettuce and pickles if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes
