Method
- Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring between, until smooth and completely melted. Alternatively, melt chocolate using a double boiler over simmering water.
- Peel, core, and dice the apple into small, bite-sized pieces for even distribution.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat. Pour melted chocolate onto the sheet, spreading it evenly to a thin layer.
- Sprinkle caramel bits evenly over the melted chocolate. Then scatter diced apples over the caramel.
- If using, sprinkle chopped nuts over the apples and caramel. Finish with ground cinnamon and a pinch of sea salt.
- Gently press the toppings into the melted chocolate using the back of a spoon or spatula to ensure they adhere well.
- Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for at least 20 minutes, or until the chocolate is completely set and firm.
- Remove the bark from the refrigerator and break into irregular pieces. For cleaner breaks, score the bark with a knife before chilling.
- Serve and enjoy this festive Halloween finger food.

Notes
Customize your bark by using different chocolates, nuts, or spices. Toast nuts for extra flavor or add a spicy kick with cayenne pepper. Store in airtight containers or freeze for longer shelf life.
