Prep the Oven and Pan
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
Brown the Ground Beef
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef, stirring and crumbling until browned and no pink remains. Drain excess grease.
Sauté the Aromatics
- Add the diced onion to the pan with the beef. Cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute.
Create the Creamy Base
- Reduce heat to low. Stir in the cream of mushroom soup, milk, ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire, salt, pepper, and paprika until smooth and heated.
Layer the Casserole
- Pour the beef mixture into the prepared dish. Sprinkle 1 cup shredded cheddar over the top.
Arrange the Fries
- Arrange frozen fries in an even layer over the cheese.
The First Bake
- Bake uncovered for 20 minutes until fries are partially crisp.
The Final Cheesing and Bake
- Sprinkle remaining 1 cup cheese over fries. Bake 5-10 more minutes until cheese is melted and bubbling, and fries are golden.
Rest and Serve
- Let rest 5 minutes. Garnish with parsley, diced tomatoes, or pickles if desired.

Notes
For extra crispiness, spray fries lightly with cooking spray before baking. Store leftovers in fridge up to 4 days or freeze base separately. Reheat in oven to maintain texture.
