Preparation Steps
- Preheat your oven to 400°F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat to prevent sticking and ease cleanup.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, beaten eggs, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, minced garlic, smoked paprika, sea salt, cracked black pepper, and dried parsley. If using grated potato, fold it in now. Use your hands to mix gently without overworking the meat to keep it tender.
- Divide the meat mixture into 6 equal portions for standard-sized patties.
- Take one portion of meat and flatten it in your palm. Place a cube of cheddar cheese in the center. Carefully fold the meat around the cheese, pinching the seams firmly to seal and prevent leaks.
- Place the stuffed patties on the prepared baking sheet and gently press down to form classic patty shapes. Top each with a small pat of butter. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F and the patties are browned on top.
- Remove from the oven and let the patties rest for 5 minutes on the baking sheet. This allows the juices to redistribute and keeps the cheese molten inside.

Notes
These patties store well in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or in the freezer for up to 2 months. Reheat in the oven at 350°F for 10 minutes to maintain moisture and gooey cheese. For variations, try spicy pepper jack cheese or add diced jalapeños for heat; for low-carb, substitute breadcrumbs with almond flour.
