Ingredients

  • 1 package Pizza Dough Store bought or homemade
  • 8 oz Cream Cheese Softened to room temperature
  • 1/4 cup Sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 2 cups Cherry Pie Filling
  • 2 tbsp Butter Melted
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1 cup Whipped Cream Optional, for serving

Equipment

  • Pizza stone or baking sheet
  • Mixing bowl
  • - Whisk
  • - Measuring cups and spoons

Method

Prepare the Base
  1. Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness. Transfer the dough to a greased pizza stone or baking sheet.
  2. Prick the dough with a fork to prevent bubbles and bake for about 8 to 10 minutes until it is just starting to turn golden brown.
Whisk the Cream
  1. In a medium bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
Add the Sweet Layer
  1. Once the crust has cooled slightly, spread the cream cheese mixture evenly across the surface, leaving about an inch for the crust edge.
Top with Cherries
  1. Spoon the cherry pie filling over the cream cheese layer, spreading it evenly. Do not be shy; you want every bite to have that signature tart cherry pop.
The Final Bake
  1. Pop the pizza back into the oven for another 5 minutes. This sets the cream cheese and warms the cherries until they are glistening.
The Finishing Touches
  1. Remove the pizza and let it sit for a few minutes. If desired, sprinkle the edges with cinnamon sugar or add a chocolate drizzle. Serve warm with whipped cream on the side.
