Cinnamon Roll Bliss Bars

Ingredients
  

Base
  • 1 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs room temperature
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
Cinnamon Swirl
  • 2 tbsp butter melted
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp cinnamon
Cream Cheese Frosting
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp milk

Method
 

Prepare the Base
  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a 9x9 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving a little overhang on the sides.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and both sugars until the mixture looks like wet sand.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, beating until the batter looks glossy and smooth.
  4. Gently fold in the flour, baking powder, and salt until the last streak of flour disappears.
Create the Cinnamon Swirl
  1. In a separate small bowl, mix the melted butter, extra brown sugar, and cinnamon.
  2. Spread the main batter into the prepared pan.
  3. Drop spoonfuls of the cinnamon mixture on top of the batter.
  4. Using a butter knife, swirl the cinnamon mixture into the batter.
Bake and Frost
  1. Place the pan in the oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the center slightly jiggles.
  2. While the bars are cooling, whip the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and milk until smooth.
  3. Spread the cream cheese frosting over the warm bars.
  4. Let the bars cool completely before slicing into 16 bars.

Notes
