Ingredients
  

  • 10 sheets of phyllo dough store-bought or homemade
  • 1 cup of shelled pistachios finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup of butter melted
  • 1/4 cup of sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 chocolate bars dark, milk, or even white, depending on your taste
  • 1/2 cup honey for drizzling
  • 1 tsp rose water optional, for Middle Eastern flair

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the Phyllo: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Start by layering 5 sheets of phyllo dough in a greased baking dish, brushing each sheet generously with melted butter. Phyllo dough can be delicate, so be gentle when handling it.
  • Make the Filling: In a bowl, combine the chopped pistachios, sugar, and cinnamon. This mixture adds that delightful crunch and flavor to your baklava bites.
  • Assemble the Layers: Spread half of the pistachio mixture over the buttered phyllo layers. Then, break the chocolate bars into small pieces and scatter them evenly over the pistachio layer.
  • Finish the Layers: Layer the remaining 5 sheets of phyllo dough on top, again brushing each sheet with butter as you go. Once done, slice the baklava into bite-sized squares or triangles before baking. This ensures even cooking and makes them easy to separate after baking.
  • Bake: Bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the phyllo turns a crispy golden brown.
  • Drizzle with Honey: Once out of the oven, drizzle the honey (mixed with rose water, if using) over the baklava bites while they are still warm. Let them sit for 10-15 minutes to soak in the honey syrup.
  • Serve: Once the baklava bites have cooled and absorbed all that sweet honey, they’re ready to be devoured! The perfect balance of flaky layers, crunchy pistachios, and melted chocolate will leave everyone wanting more.

Notes

Keep the phyllo dough moist by covering it with a damp cloth as you work to prevent it from drying out.
