- Lightly grease your crockpot with cooking spray to help prevent the chicken from sticking.
- Place the chicken breasts or thighs into the bottom of the crockpot.
- In a bowl, whisk together the cream of chicken soup, ranch dressing mix, and chicken broth until smooth. Add the optional chopped onion or minced garlic if desired.
- Pour the mixture evenly over the chicken in the crockpot.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, or until the chicken is cooked through and easily shreds with a fork.
- Once cooked, remove the chicken from the crockpot and shred it using two forks. Return the shredded chicken to the crockpot and stir to coat with the sauce.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
