Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan or line with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk sugar, melted butter, eggs, sour cream, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth and pale.
- Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients. Fold gently with a spatula until just combined and no flour streaks remain.
- Fold in holiday sprinkles gently, being careful not to overmix and streak the colors.
- Pour batter into prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
- Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
- Cool in pan for 10–15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Whisk powdered sugar, heavy cream, and almond extract (if using) until smooth. Drizzle over cooled loaf.
- Add extra sprinkles on top before glaze sets. Slice and serve.
