Method
Prepare the Chicken
- Slice the chicken breasts or tenders into thin cutlets, about 1/4 inch thick, roughly the size of your slider buns. Season the chicken with salt, pepper, blackened seasoning, and drizzle with olive oil. Toss to coat evenly.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the chicken for about 2 minutes per side until mostly cooked through. Alternatively, preheat oven to 400°F and bake on a sheet for 10-12 minutes. Set aside.
Cook the Bacon
- Cook bacon slices in a skillet until crisp. Drain on paper towels and crumble or cut.
Prepare the Honey Mustard Sauce
- In a small bowl, whisk together Dijon mustard, honey, mayonnaise, and white vinegar if using. Set aside, reserving about 1/4 for serving.
Prepare the Garlic Butter Glaze
- In a bowl, melt the butter and stir in minced garlic and dried parsley.
Assemble the Sliders
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Slice the package of slider buns horizontally to create top and bottom halves, keeping them attached.
- Place the bottom halves in a 9x13 baking dish. Spread a thin layer of mayonnaise on them.
- Layer the cooked chicken evenly over the mayonnaise.
- Drizzle two-thirds of the honey mustard sauce over the chicken.
- Top with cheese slices or shredded cheese, then add the crumbled bacon.
Bake
- Place the top buns back on. Brush generously with garlic butter glaze.
- Cover loosely with foil and bake for 10 minutes. Remove foil and bake 3-5 more minutes until cheese melts, buns are golden.
Add Toppings and Serve
- Immediately after baking, lift top buns and add tomato slices and lettuce. Replace tops, slice apart, and serve with reserved honey mustard sauce.
