Ingredients

  • 2 whole Frozen Bananas sliced and frozen solid
  • 1 cup Frozen Mixed Berries frozen
  • 1/2 cup Greek Yogurt plain
  • 2-4 tablespoons Liquid Base unsweetened almond milk, oat milk, or coconut water
  • 1 tablespoon Chia Seeds
  • 1 tablespoon Almond Butter
  • 1 scoop Protein Powder vanilla or plain, optional
  • Toppings fresh sliced strawberries, chia seeds, toasted coconut flakes, sliced almonds, honey or maple syrup

Equipment

  • Blender,
  • measuring cups,
  • - Measuring spoons
  • - Mixing bowls

Method

  1. Measure out your splash of liquid base, such as almond milk, and pour it into the very bottom of your blender pitcher along with the Greek yogurt and nut butter.
  2. Place your protein powder and chia seeds over the liquid base, then top with the heavy frozen bananas and frozen berries.
  3. Set your blender to its lowest speed setting. Use your blender tamper tool to actively push the frozen fruit down toward the blades.
  4. Once the fruit begins to break apart into small icy gravel, increase the speed to high for 20 to 30 seconds while continuing to push fruit into the center swirl.
  5. Turn off the blender. The mixture should be so thick that you can scoop it out with a ice cream scoop. Transfer the velvet smooth base into chilled ceramic bowls.
  6. Gently place your fresh berries, toasted oats, nuts, and seed blends across the top surface. Serve immediately before the smooth base thaws!

Notes

For a dairy-free version, use full-fat coconut yogurt or thick almond milk yogurt instead of Greek yogurt. To make it keto-friendly, omit the banana and high-sugar fruits, and use frozen avocado, frozen zucchini, unsweetened almond butter, full-fat coconut milk, and keto-friendly collagen protein powder.
