Method
Prepare your station
- Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat to prevent sticking.
Melt the Candy
- Place each color of candy melts into separate microwave-safe bowls. Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring well after each, until melted and smooth. If too thick, add a tiny bit of shortening.
Dip the Pretzels
- Dip each pretzel rod about halfway into your primary color (e.g., purple). Lift and let excess drip back into the bowl, then shake gently to smooth.
- Place dipped pretzels onto the prepared sheet. Divide among the colors.
Drizzle and Garnish
- Once the base coat is set for a minute, drizzle contrasting colors over the pretzels using a spoon or piping bag.
- While the drizzle is wet, shake sprinkles over the top.
Cool and Harden
- Let pretzels sit at room temperature for 20-30 minutes until firm, or refrigerate for 5 minutes if rushed.
