Method
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, and salt. Mix gently until just combined. Form 6-8 patties slightly wider than buns, making a shallow indentation in center with thumb.
- Heat olive oil in skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Cook patties 3-5 minutes per side for medium-rare or to preferred doneness. Cook in batches if needed.
- Place cheese slice atop each patty during last minute of cooking. Cover and melt cheese for about 30 seconds.
- Lightly butter or oil burger buns cut side and toast until golden brown on separate pan or grill.
- Assemble eyes by cutting circles of white cheese and placing halved black olives on top. Set aside. If using candy eyeballs, add just before serving.
- Cut red bell pepper strips into jagged tongues or triangle fangs, or use bacon strips or pickle halved spears for fangs or tongues.
- Build burgers starting with bottom toasted bun, spread chosen sauce (ketchup, mayo, or green slime mayo), place cheesy patty, add eyes on cheese, then pile shredded lettuce, red onion, or purple cabbage for hair/tentacles.
- Insert tongues or fangs under patty or cheese to protrude. Drizzle extra ketchup or green mayo for gore. Add pickle slices or jalapeños for texture and fiery flavor.
- Top with toasted bun and serve immediately to enjoy the monstrous feast.
