Meat
  • 2 lbs 2 85/15 blend
Dairy/Binders
  • 1 cup 1 whole or 2%

Equipment

  • loaf pan,
  • oven
  • Mixing bowl

Method

Prepare the Ingredients
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a standard 9x5 inch loaf pan, or lay a sheet of parchment paper down for easier lifting.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the breadcrumbs and the milk. Let this sit for 5 minutes.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the egg, minced garlic cloves, finely diced onion, fresh parsley, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  4. Add the ground beef and the grated Parmesan cheese to the bowl. Now, add the milk-soaked breadcrumbs mixture.
  5. Using your clean hands, gently mix all the ingredients until just combined.
  6. Transfer the mixture into your prepared loaf pan. Gently press the mixture down and smooth the top.
  7. Place the meatloaf in the preheated oven and bake for 40 minutes.
  8. Mix the marinara sauce and brown sugar for the glaze.
  9. After 40 minutes, remove the meatloaf from the oven and spread the glaze evenly over the top. Return the loaf to the oven for another 15 to 25 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F.
  10. Remove the meatloaf and let it rest in the pan for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
