Method
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line two large baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed. Beat in the vanilla extract and Nutella until just combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips using a rubber spatula.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, about 2 inches apart. For extra Nutella flavor, slightly indent the top of each dough ball and add a tiny dollop of Nutella before baking.
- Bake for 9 to 11 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are set but still soft.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes
For an extra gooey center, freeze small dollops of Nutella for 30 minutes, then wrap each in dough before baking. These cookies are best enjoyed within 4 days but can be frozen for up to 3 months.
