Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups good quality vanilla ice cream
  • 1 cup whole milk or half and half for a richer shake
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 8-10 drops green food coloring
  • 1 cup crushed Oreo cookies plus more for garnish
  • Whipped cream for topping
  • Maraschino cherry for topping (optional)

Method
 

  1. Scoop the 4 cups of vanilla ice cream into the blender.
  2. Pour in the 1 cup of whole milk.
  3. Add the 1 teaspoon of peppermint extract and the 8 to 10 drops of green food coloring.
  4. Place the lid on the blender and blend on high for about 30 to 45 seconds, or until the mixture is smooth and uniformly green.
  5. Remove the lid and add 1 cup of crushed Oreo cookies. Using a long spoon or spatula, gently stir and fold the cookie pieces into the minty base.
  6. Immediately pour the mixture into two tall glasses.
  7. Top each glass with a generous swirl of whipped cream, an extra sprinkle of crushed Oreos, and a cherry if desired. Serve right away with a spoon and a straw.
