  • Fork
  • Parchment paper
  • Toothpick
  • refrigerator,

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 package Oreo Spooky Creme Cookies
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips for melting
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips for melting
  • 1/2 cup orange candy melts
  • as needed assorted Halloween sprinkles (bats, ghosts, spiders, etc.)
  • as needed candy eyes
  • as needed pretzel sticks
  • optional green frosting for Frankenstein cookies
  • optional red gel frosting for 'blood' effect

Substitutions

  • vegan Oreos can be used for a vegan-friendly option
  • dairy-free chocolate chips for a dairy-free version
  • white chocolate dyed with food coloring alternative if candy melts unavailable

Instructions

  • Melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, and orange candy melts in separate microwave-safe bowls according to package instructions. Stir frequently to prevent burning.
  • Dip each Oreo Spooky Creme Cookie into the melted chocolate or candy melts, fully coating the cookie. Use a fork to lift the cookie, allowing excess chocolate to drip back into the bowl.
  • While the chocolate is still wet, decorate the coated cookies immediately with assorted Halloween sprinkles, candy eyes, and other decorations.
  • To create spider web cookies, drizzle melted white chocolate over a cookie coated in semi-sweet chocolate in a spiral pattern and drag lines outward with a toothpick to form the web.
  • For Frankenstein cookies, dip cookies in melted green candy melts. Add two small candy eyes at the top, use green frosting to create hair and a stitched mouth, and insert broken pretzel sticks into the sides as bolts.
  • Add a 'blood' splatter effect by dipping a brush into red gel frosting and flicking it onto some cookies for a gory touch.
  • Place decorated cookies on a parchment-lined baking sheet and refrigerate for 15-20 minutes until the chocolate is fully set.

Notes

Chocolate should be melted slowly and stirred frequently to avoid overheating and graininess. Decorations should be ready before dipping as chocolate sets quickly. Parchment paper is recommended to cut down on breakage.
