Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups Apple Cider unsweetened
  • 1 cup Cranberry Juice
  • 0.5 cup Lemon Juice freshly squeezed
  • 0.25 cup Simple Syrup adjust to taste
  • few drops Black Food Coloring (gel recommended)
  • 1-2 oz Vodka or Rum optional, for an adult version
  • Apple slices for garnish
  • Rock candy sticks for garnish
  • Black sanding sugar for rimming glasses

Method
 

  1. Combine the apple cider, cranberry juice, and lemon juice in a large pitcher.
  2. Add the simple syrup, starting with the recommended amount and adjusting to taste.
  3. Add black food coloring a few drops at a time, stirring well after each addition until a deep black color is achieved.
  4. Cover and refrigerate the pitcher for at least 2 hours to chill and meld flavors.
  5. If desired, stir in vodka or rum just before serving, about 1-2 ounces per serving.
  6. Rim glasses with black sanding sugar by moistening rims with water or lemon juice and dipping into the sugar.
  7. Pour the drink into glasses and garnish with apple slices and rock candy sticks.

Notes
