Ingredients
  

Chicken

  • 2-3 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs can substitute bone-in, skin-on chicken but adjust cooking time
  • 1 packet (1 oz) dry Italian dressing mix
  • 1 packet (1 oz) dry ranch dressing mix
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth or water, can substitute vegetable broth
  • 1/4 cup butter melted, optional for extra richness

Instructions
 

  • Spray the inside of your crockpot with non-stick cooking spray for easy cleanup.
  • Place the chicken breasts or thighs in the bottom of the crockpot in a single layer.
  • Sprinkle the Italian dressing mix and ranch dressing mix evenly over the chicken to coat thoroughly.
  • Pour the chicken broth around the chicken. If using butter, drizzle melted butter over the top.
  • Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours until chicken is cooked through and easily shreddable.
  • Use two forks to shred the chicken directly in the crockpot once cooked.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

This recipe is easily modifiable: add garlic or lemon for extra flavor, turn it spicy with red pepper flakes, or make a crockpot dump dinner with diced tomatoes and black beans.
