  • 1 pint cherry or grape tomatoes
  • 1 package fresh mozzarella balls bocconcini or ciliegine
  • 1 bunch fresh basil leaves
  • 1 can black olives pitted
  • balsamic glaze store-bought or homemade
  • black olive eyes for ghosts

  • Wooden Skewers
  • Plastic or Metal Straw
  • Baking sheet

Method
 

  1. Prepare ingredients by rinsing and drying tomatoes and basil leaves. Drain mozzarella balls from liquid and pat dry.
  2. Use a straw to cut small circles from black olives to make eyes.
  3. Press olive eyes onto mozzarella balls to create ghost faces.
  4. Thread ingredients onto skewers in this order: tomato, basil leaf (folded), mozzarella ghost, basil leaf, tomato. Repeat until all ingredients are used.
  5. Arrange skewers on a platter and drizzle with balsamic glaze just before serving.
