Prep Time 10 minutes
Servings 1 large batch

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • - Spatula
  • airtight container,
  • measuring cups,
  • spoons.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup white school glue
  • 3 cups shaving cream
  • 1 tablespoon baking soda
  • 1 ½ tablespoons contact lens solution containing boric acid
  • Food coloring optional
  • Glitter optional

Instructions

  • Prepare Your Workspace: Start by setting up your workspace with all the ingredients and tools you’ll need. A clean, flat surface and a large mixing bowl are essential.
  • Mix the Glue and Baking Soda: In your mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of white school glue with 1 tablespoon of baking soda. Stir well until they are fully blended. The baking soda helps to thicken the glue, giving your slime a nice consistency.
  • Add Shaving Cream: Next, add 3 cups of shaving cream to the glue mixture. The shaving cream is what makes the slime fluffy, so don’t skimp! Stir the mixture until it is light and fluffy.
  • Add Food Coloring (Optional): If you want your slime to be colorful, now is the time to add a few drops of food coloring. Stir until the color is evenly distributed throughout the mixture. You can mix colors to create unique shades.
  • Activate the Slime with Contact Lens Solution: Gradually add 1 ½ tablespoons of contact lens solution to the mixture, stirring continuously. The contact lens solution contains boric acid, which reacts with the glue to form the stretchy, squishy slime texture. You’ll notice the mixture starting to pull away from the sides of the bowl and become more solid. If the slime is too sticky, add a few more drops of contact solution until it reaches the desired consistency.
  • Knead the Slime: Once the slime begins to form, take it out of the bowl and knead it with your hands. It might be sticky at first, but keep kneading until it becomes smooth, stretchy, and non-sticky.
  • Add Glitter (Optional): For an extra touch of sparkle, knead in some glitter to your slime. Be creative and use different colors and sizes of glitter to make your slime truly unique.
  • Store Your Slime: Keep your fluffy slime in an airtight container when not in use. This will prevent it from drying out and losing its signature fluffy texture.

Notes

  • Notes:
Ensure the contact lens solution contains boric acid for the best results.
