chocolate or vanilla
eggs, oil, and water
as per cake mix instructions

vanilla frosting
12–16 oz
green food coloring
red food coloring
chocolate cookies
crushed, for 'dirt' effect
candy eyeballs
gummy worms
brownie tombstones
optional, for decoration
Instructions
Bake the cake according to package directions and let it cool completely.
While the cake cools, tint the vanilla frosting green using the green food coloring.
Frost the cooled cake with the green frosting.
Sprinkle the crushed chocolate cookies around the base of the cake to create a 'dirt' effect.
Carefully arrange the candy eyeballs, gummy worms, and brownie tombstones (if using) on top of the frosted cake to create your zombie scene.
Add a touch of red food coloring around the mouth (created with a knife) to make the cake look extra spooky!
Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.
Notes
For a vegan version, use a vegan cake mix and frosting. To create a more gory effect, add edible blood gel or red food coloring.
